Collection: Beams and Lumber

Beams for construction and load bearing without knots, grooves or checking that sacrifice strength. Dried and ready for use the moment they're delivered between 2-8 weeks. Beams can be milled with more live edge for decorative purposes. Additionally, beams can be sanded and finished to preserve the deep purple and red heartwood grain of eastern red cedar. Perfect for exposed beams inside or outside your home. Eastern cedar has natural oils that make it more weather resistant than most woods. Additionally, all boards and beams are dried to around 10% moisture content, so they won't warp after installation.

Rough cut, dimensional eastern red cedar boards are cut to true thickness. So, a 1" thick board will be 1" thick. Planed and squared boards are available as well. Planing and squaring in a jointer will remove 1/8th-1/4th of an inch which is why a squared 2"x4" is typically only 1.5"x3.5" inches. Rough cut lumber will have grooves in the wood from the sawmill blade.

Available softwood species include eastern red cedar (aromatic cedar) and pine. Hardwood species include pecan, black walnut, bois d'arc (aka osage orange), oak (post oak, red oak, blackjack oak), mesquite, elm, persimmon, and others upon request. There may be size limitations for some species based on the availability of logs.
